Just going on a stroll...

This is a nice one, I think...

In the original, she was wearing a summer hat, but in the end it didn't look quite how I liked, and besides, I like the touch of the pink headband instead.

I decided to draw and colour this for certain reasons...
Well, actually, years ago, I had a character called Soukai. She was an elf, had purple eyes and long, blue hair that was always tied in a braid down her back. I used her as my model, putting random costume ideas on her. After I created Hinode, it switched, but I found my old sketchbook and found a picture I did of Soukai in a dress similar to this.

It's not the same dress, but it's the same idea, and I remember drawing that and I remember that whenever I do see it, I love the idea. Soooo, I decided to draw Hinode wearing it. I tweaked the design a bit to fulfill what I needed and now it is this.

It sucks, though. Beware. It was drawn years ago, I think I figured out it was in 2006.

Another reason for me to colour this is to once again conquer that fear of colouring black hair within me. I can't stand colouring black hair and I wanted to make the hair look at least half-way decent. I like this style, actually taken from 's beautiful picture of Hinode that she drew for my birthday. I liked her idea for the hair, having the strands coloured in, so I did the same. I then put a very opaque layer of black on top of it, then shaded on another layer with opaque black and white to suit my wants.

I think this looks nice. I also think that once again, Hinode looks cute and sweet, and happy. I also also like that I put a neat texture thing from my pattern brush for her shoes. They're faint little flowers...

*sigh* In a couple of days I'll be off to the Maritimes. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm sort of "AUUUGH THE SUMMER IS ENDING ALREADY AUUUUGH"
Since my school starts on August 27 this year! AGGGG
OH well. I'll have to deal with it eventually. All I have to do now is get my freakin' driver's license!!...I'm so lazy...
